About training

The College offers technical training required for employees to maintain systems used by the Canadian Coast Guard. Training focuses on the setup and maintenance of electronic systems on our ships and at shore-based sites. As part of career development for electronic systems technologists, we train them to:

Training is in English and French.

Regional managers determine when employees attend training, based on the job needs. Employees may also request training via their supervisor or manager.

This training is available to Canadian Coast Guard employees only, who are:

If you’re interested in these careers, you must be a graduate of an accredited electronics program or an approved alternative. A foundation in electronic communications is preferable, but not mandatory. Other conditions of employment may apply.

You can apply on GC jobs. Successful applicants are hired in an apprenticeship program called the Marine Electronics Development Program.
