Description

This course consists of the theoretical and practical operation of electronic positioning systems and radio equipment. Topics covered in this course include:

  • bridge equipment and systems
  • obtaining accurate position fixing
  • detection of misrepresented information
  • magnetic, electromagnetic and gyro-compasses
  • electromagnetic signal generation and transmission
  • how to use modern electronic navigational aids, including their:
    • limitations
    • sources of error
    • operating principles
